A little bit about myself

I was born on November 17, 1946 in Houma,
Terrebonne Parish (County), Louisiana. Christened as Donald Paul Thibodaux.
My maternal grandfather was Comeaux, and maternal grandmother was Babin,
(I'm probably related to everyone who's last name ends with "aux").
My friends call me Don or "Thibbe" (nickname).

When I was seven years old we moved to Golden Meadow, in LaFourche Parish
(45 miles southeast of Houma, 60 miles southwest of New Orleans)
one foot above sea level. My backyard and playground was the swamp, where
I spent many hours there, learning about nature and life (or death).

I graduated from Golden Meadow High School in 1964, and I was enrolled
at Nichols State College (now a university) in Thibodaux,
Louisiana for one and a half semesters.

I have worked in the seafood industry, and in the offshore oil field industry,
since I was 16 years old. On June 20, 1979, I had a offshore oil field accident,
that resulted in 8 ruptured discs in my neck and back.
I continue to work until April 12, 1982,
when I could no longer work, and taken a disability retirement.

With all this free time I learned about computers on my own,
and built several (12) computers for myself, family, and friends.
I also learned how to repair and upgrade computers,
and a little Basic programming.

I am presently learning web page designing on the internet with
pure HTML 4 programing (no editors or software), since October 19, 1998.
This is my second web page. I started this site on August 09, 1999.

My goal in life is to help anyone who needs help, to the best of my abilities.
My next goal is to learn Java Scripting, along with me helping new friends
to the computer world, and encourage their talents.
